I want to do something real different this week for #FF – I’ve recently felt the itch to start painting again. It’s been a while, I’ve taken all my oils out, I’ve inventoried what I’ve got, I’ve ordered some new paints to try. It’s going to happen. I’ve also found a world of inspiration on Instagram – wonderful painters, leaning toward the abstract, that I wanted to share with you all today.
I can’t get enough of all 5 of these feeds and have been creeping on these ladies all week.
Carrie Shyrock – Carrie’s feed is full of wonderful little moleskine paintings of big skies and open plains.
Deeann Rieves – Really lovely giant mixed media abstracts. I kind of want to climb inside these.
Heather Day – I love how Heather uses her Instagram to share a mix of her explorations and processes which lead to her big, wonderful abstracts.
Jennifer Gauthier – Beautiful, loose abstracts in lovely subdued tones.
Susannah Bleasby – Such bright colours and lovely painterly abstract landscapes. I’m hooked.
